short biography
I was born and grew up in Changsha, Hunan, China, and later moved to Shenzhen, Guangdong. In 2015, I joined the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Beihang University, where I started my research focusing on investigating electronic properties of two-dimensional materials using first-principles calculations. In 2019, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics, from Beihang University.
In 2020, I moved to the United States to pursue a PhD at Penn State. I joined Prof. Zi-Kui Liu’s group and started investigating phase stability of intermetallic catalysts using the CALPHAD method. I have also completed two internships in 2022 and 2023 at Argonne National Laboratory, Nuclear Science and Engineering Division, focusing on CALPHAD modeling of molten salts with uncertainty quantification. My research topics include (1) thermodynamic modeling of intermetallic catalysts and molten salts with uncertainty quantification, (2) Bayesian model selection in CALPHAD modeling for identifying optimal models for phases, and (3) computational thermodynamics software development and implementation of advanced thermodynamic models.
