short biography

I am a Visiting Scholar at Penn State and my permanent position is an Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Wuhan University of Science and Technology (China). . In my research I focus on phase transformation and microstructure control in iron and steel.

I started my research with the microstructure characterization and grain refinement of weld joint of low carbon high strength microalloyed steels. Then, worked on the grain growth kinetics about the effects of alloying elements on austenite to ferrite and reverse transformations kinetics in multi-component iron alloys. Currently I focus on the segregation of solute atoms. Thanks to my education background in physics, I always pay close attention to thermodynamic and kinetic parameters during phase transformation.
